Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig, MD FACS

Our medical director, Dr. Jeffery Weinzweig is internationally recognized leader in craniofacial surgery. He is one of the most widely published members of his field, having written and published five textbooks and over 200 scholarly articles. Dr. Weinzweig is Ivy League trained and educated, receiving training and education at Columbia University, Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Brown University, and the University of Pennsylvania. He was a faculty member of Brown University and then became the Director of the Institute of the Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Chairman of Plastic Surgery at the Lahey Clinic outside of Boston. A plastic and reconstructive surgeon, he is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Weinzweig is uniquely qualified to treat craniofacial conditions in both children and adults, and is the founder of Komedyplast, a non-profit international organization that treats children with complex craniofacial anomalies. He is the inventor of a software program that predicts the outcome of soft tissue movement of the face based on movement of the underlying facial skeleton, and has invented a novel plating system for the skull that is currently being submitted to the FDA for approval. Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig's interest in migraines as a craniofacial problem began years ago when he noticed that patients migraines were responding to Botox. Since then, Botox for Migraine treatment has been FDA approved and other advances in migraine treatment have occurred. We were one of the first clinic to adopt the use of the SPG nerve block using an innovative technology that makes the block well tolerated by patients. Dr. Weinzweig has received training in migraine surgery and opened a comprehensive clinic that is focused on providing therapeutic treatments for primary headache disorders.
