Physical & Manual Therapy
Physical therapy and manual therapy is often helpful in relieving some of the pain brought on by headaches. There are a variety of exercises aimed towards reducing tension in the neck, shoulders, jaw, and forehead caused by migraines and other headache types. If you experience headache-related pain in any of the aforementioned areas, physical therapy may be the right option for you. Cervicogenic headaches, or headaches whose root causes are arising from the neck, are headaches where physical and manual therapy is especially helpful. There are several types of physical therapy, all of which are effective at alleviating some of the pain associated with headaches. These include:
Classical Physical Therapy
This method combines a range of different techniques including massage, posture correction, and movement in order to restore proper functioning to the joints and muscles.
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic treatments focus on readjusting misaligned joints and bones. When misaligned, joins and bones can put pressure on the nerves and thereby trigger migraines or other types of headaches.
Massage & Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy & massage can help reduce tension in the jaw, neck, and shoulders caused by headaches and migraines.
